EHR7FA 'Bob & John' coaches heartrate monitor (formerly Treffene Coaches EHR7FA HRM)
Instant readout (within 2 beats) - invaluable for any coach wishing to quickly monitor a number of swimmers. Can also be placed on poolside for swimmers to monitor their own heart rate.
Originally developed in Australia by Dr Bob Treffene, the sports Science advisor to the Australian and British National Swimming Teams. The EHR7FA monitor is used extensively by coaches of a number of current Australian World and Olympic record holders and also throughout the rest of the world. It enables the coach to monitor and control the work rate of each individual where specific heart rates are required for effective enhancement of the various energy systems.
Records stable heart rate within 2 beats
Accurate to 1bpm within a range of 30 to 270bpm
Easy to operate
9v battery (supplied)
Water resistant casing
Makes monitoring swimmers' heartrates easy, monitor can be taken from lane to lane during sets and repetitions
NO COACH OR CLUB SHOULD BE WITHOUT THIS EXCEPTIONAL MONITOR!!
One end of the leads needs to be in the pool for the monitor to function correctly. However swimming pool water causes a deposit to build up on the copper lead under the insulating cover, which in turn means that the monitor does not receive the heart rate signal from the swimmer.
This can be fixed temporarily by detaching the earth & sponge end, cutting the bottom couple of inches off the wire & resoldering to the correct parts.
Obviously this shortens the leads so eventaully you will need to replace the leads with a new set!
If you have an EHR7FA heartrate monitor (or one of the older Treffene Coaches HRM) and it is not working, first check the battery then the leads. Replacing the leads nearly always fixes the problem (providing the monitor itself is not damaged).
Delivery is usually 3-4 weeks on this monitor
